Visitor Host Team Leader

The Horniman Museum and Gardens is a unique attraction in south east London where world cultures and the natural world are brought together for everyone to enjoy. The Museum holds internationally important collections of anthropology and musical instruments, as well as a popular natural history gallery and Aquarium. The 16 acres of beautiful Gardens feature a tropical Butterfly House and offer stunning views across London. The Horniman is the holder of the prestigious Art Fund Museum of the Year 2022.
The Visitor Experience team plays a vital role at the Horniman, working alongside our Retail and Admissions team and Volunteers to deliver an excellent visitor experience. We are looking for a superb Visitor Host Team Leader to ensure we provide a warm, welcoming, safe and inspiring visit to all who come to the Museum.
Working alongside the Visitor Experience Manager and other Team Leaders, you’ll be supporting, developing and leading permanent and temporary Visitor Hosts and managing daily front of house operations.
Current highlights include a programme of tours in the galleries, newly launched Horniman Museum Lates and our ambitious Nature + Love project.

The closing date for completed applications is 10am on Wednesday 03 July 2024. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 17 July 2024.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for this role.
Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

The Horniman is an equal opportunities employer and we value and celebrate diversity. We want to better represent the communities in which we work but recognise that there is still much work to do in this area. We welcome and encourage all applicants and particularly encourage you to apply if you are from a community that is often disadvantaged by society or an ethnically diverse background.
