About us
The Science Museum Group (SMG) is the largest and most complex museum estate in the country which also houses a scientific collection of international significance. Our National Railway Museum in York is undergoing transformation! We're on a journey to become a global engineering powerhouse and a reinvented, inspiring 21st-century attraction.

By celebrating the past, present and future of railways and engineering, we will capture the hearts and minds of the next generation of engineers, innovators and thinkers.

About the role
This is great opportunity if you are keen to start a career in Project Management, particularly within Construction; Facilities Management or Buildings Management.

You will ensure that Capital projects are undertaken in line with Project Management best practice, through engagement of relevant stakeholders and in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.

You'll co-ordinate effective financial and administration management of projects through their full life cycle and will oversee all contractor and documentation including tenders, surveys, reports, and statutory records.

The team are keen to support and develop you within this position - You are not required to have any prior qualifications or experience of project frameworks. Training will be provided to enable your continuous development, including the opportunity to gain a Project Management Qualification.

We can offer a hybrid working pattern, however there will still be a regular presence required at our York museum, with occasional travel to other northern sites.

Contract: Permanent, Full time 35 hours per week
Salary: £28,350 per annum

About you
Whether you have developed your great administration and organisation skills by supporting a busy team, office, or an individual - we look forward to hearing from you.

Direct project coordinator experience is not essential, and instead, we will be focusing on your ability to build good working relationships to ensure the best flow of information, in all directions for your team. You will also have a high-level of attention to detail, particularly when reviewing documents or inputting and analysing data. Experience with data systems and knowledge of financial processes will be helpful.

With a flexible and motivated approach to work, you can look after a varied workload. You will be able to balance responsibilities and prioritise, ensuring you provide a responsive, efficient and customer-focussed service to all internal and external stakeholders.
