Conservation Manager (Engineering)

The strategic areas may include, conservation ethics; conservation research; skills development including apprenticeships; process, planning and activity programming; volunteering. These will be allocated through Corporate Planning for periods of five year cycles.

The purpose of the job is to plan and manage programmes to conserve collection material at all of IWM’s five branches or at local venues. This will include overseeing external conservation contracts, and managing a team of conservators and conservation technicians.

The post will also be responsible for one of the key conservation workflow strands in support of IWM’s projects. This role will include the recruitment and line management of additional contract staff to deliver projects.

The post is based at IWM’s Duxford branch but will occasionally be required to work at all branches as required.
