Retail and Buying Administrator

Do you have good administration and organisation skills to meet deadlines? Can you manage a range of data using systems like excel, whilst keeping a keen eye for detail?

About us
Science Museum Group (SMG) is here to inspire futures. We aim to grow visitors 'science capital' and engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

Our retail outlets, pop-up stores, online shops and special ranges offered at each of our 5, national museums allow us to extend our visitor offer and generate valuable revenue for the development of SMG.

About the role
We are looking for an Administration Assistant to support our Retail and Buying teams at the Science Museum!

You will assist the Retail Coordinator with providing administrative support primarily for financial processes and tracking, maintaining data and systems and using databases, responding to customer queries whilst delivering a good level of service to your stakeholders.

You will also help our Buying team with collating a range of information for our eCommerce platforms, and managing processes on their EPOS system.

We can offer hybrid working as a part of this position, however there will be a 2 day onsite minimum and occasional flexibility to be onsite more often depending on the responsibilities of the position.

About you
Retail knowledge or experience is not essential, however given the level work you will look after with a range of information and data, you will need some administration skills and a high level of organisation and attention to detail. It will be beneficial if you have some experience with Excel or are confident with this programme - you will be keen to pick up new systems and processes along the way.

With the ability to work in a busy environment, you can effectively prioritise and work to deadlines. You're a team player and enjoy proactively supporting others, with excellent customer service. Above all, you are a good communicator, who can build relationships with stakeholders over a range of communication mediums.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
