About us
The Fundraising and Partnerships Team aim to achieve income targets to support the ambitions of the Science Museum Group (SMG) to inspire futures. The Prospect Development team enable the Fundraising & Partnerships team to achieve their income targets by delivering insightful research and strong pipeline management.
We are now recruiting for a Prospect Development Manager on a permanent, full-time contract, working 35 hours per week. This role can be based at any of the following SMG sites: Science Museum in London, Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, National Railway Museum in York, National Science and Media Museum in Bradford, with hybrid working also included.
About the role
As Prospect Development Manager you will work to identify new target donor audiences and embed a proactive prospect development strategy that delivers strong, long-term pipelines across our museums and income streams. As well as identifying high-quality prospects and delivering well researched prospect intelligence, you will build and work in partnership with fundraisers to maximise the value of their pipelines.
You will also work alongside the rest of Fundraising Operations to drive a data-driven way of working, using our CRM database and analytics platform to ensure that all opportunities are maximised. Furthermore, you will manage a Prospect Development Executive and work collaboratively to support fundraising across all SMG Museums.
Along with prospect research tasks, you may also be working on more collaborative pieces such as exploring the prospect potential for upcoming capital projects like the build of a new gallery space, large event biography documents for annual dinner events or the creation of a new report or process to support the wider Department.
About you
Joining us, you will have experience of working in a fundraising team in a prospect research capacity, in addition to a good understanding of the pivotal role research plays in prospect management, cultivation and stewardship. You will have good research skills with the ability to work with a CRM database and experience of collating and analysing complex information.
Crucially, you will be a good communicator with the ability to collaborate with others, build good working relationships and deliver complex information in a clear way to a variety of audiences. You will be able to manage your time and prioritise tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines and manage competing demands.
