We are currently looking for a Membership Manager to join our Commercial Services Team on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head of Visitor Experience, the successful candidate will oversee the effective delivery and management of a profitable membership scheme, ensuring that the scheme grows consistently, and the highest standards of service are established and maintained.
With full responsibility for the profit and loss (P&L) for British Library Membership, the Membership Manager assumes overall responsibility for the management of Members’ service delivery, including the Members’ Room. They will take ownership of the Membership proposition and product development to ensure the offer remains compelling and distinctive and supports the Library’s Knowledge Matters vision.
They will have line management responsibility for one Membership and Ticketing Coordinator and will be responsible for managing the membership & ticketing database and for overseeing the uploading of events and exhibitions onto the ticketing system.
The post holder will need to build strong working relations with a variety of departments within the BL, such as Marketing, Customer Services, Visitor Experience, Finance, and our Catering Partners. They will also work closely with the BL Development Team to share knowledge and ideas to maximise opportunities to promote and secure philanthropic donations to the Library, using the membership base to support the Development Team’s work to grow the Library’s prospect pipeline and philanthropic income.
The post holder will normally work Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week and will occasionally have to work out of office hours including weekends, and from other Library locations. The post holder will also visit and may on occasion work from the Library’s northern campus at Boston Spa, West Yorkshire, as necessary.
