Salary - £18,046.08 per annum (Full-time equivalent £ 30,076.80 per annum)
Part time - 24 hours and 3 days per week.
Permanent - Hybrid working with 1-2 days on site
Role Purpose:
The Junior Designer provides key support to the Commercial team, especially the retail team. In this role they will work on product development for retail and publishing, the development of marketing assets (print and digital) and point of sale promotional materials.
Key Accountabilities:
Working closely with the retail team to design, sample and produce exhibition-aligned products
Contribute ideas and designs to the development of our core gallery product for the gift shop and possible external retail distribution
Work with artists and other external designers on product development making sure all necessary parties internally are kept up to date
Producing visual merchandising materials such as shop signage, vinyls and graphics and contributing ideas for shop displays and presentation such as window displays and in-store activations.
Liaising with the Gallery’s Communications and Design teams on the application of the NPG brand and Style guides.
Design and produce packing materials, carrier bags, swing tags etc.
Working with the wider Commercial Teams as required, including Hospitality, Publishing and Rights & Images on signage, promotional materials and print material and other design-related tasks.
Working with the publishing team on print materials such as postcards and greetings cards and small publishing projects as required
Planning and managing work schedules to deliver projects within set timeframe and budgets.
Sourcing and procuring services and goods from external suppliers.
Art directing and assisting with product photography for the website and graphic presentation of the online shop using Shopify software and e-newsletter templates.
Conduct changes to the ecommerce and picture licensing sites.
Promoting sustainable working practices and reducing the environmental impact of the Gallery’s operations in line with its Sustainability Statement.

Established good working relations with key colleagues across the Gallery
Successfully supported the development and delivery of the commercial team’s marketing requirements
Produced creative and appropriate design solutions for our exhibitions and core product range
Developed a good understanding of key commercial objectives for the Gallery
