Commercial Hire Event Manager

About the role:
As the Commercial Hire Event Manager, you will be responsible for managing commercial events and conferences in the Clore Education Centre, Galleries, and Great Court spaces. Your role will involve ensuring that both internal and external users receive a consistently high level of service. You will liaise with clients to identify their requirements, manage support services to meet those needs, and oversee the successful delivery of events on the day.

Key areas of responsibility:
• Manage, plan/organise to support the delivery and management of the event operation throughout the Museum event spaces dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers.
• Operate to British Museum standards and procedures in accordance with the client’s specific requirements.
• Involvement with operations processes, such as Event and Security Briefs, Risk Assessments, Permit to Work Clearances, scheduling and booking Contractor’s Desk Vehicle gate deliveries by suppliers and clients
• Liaise with Information Services, Audio Visual, Facilities and Security departments on a regular basis to ensure smooth delivery of events and create pro-active solutions to building works and service issues that may affect delivery of events and filming.
• Work as part of a team to support, manage and deliver high profile events and conferences.
• Other duties as assigned

About you:
• Experience of managing conferences or events, with the ability to manage associated support services.
• Experience of dealing with health and safety issues
• Computer Literacy
• Project management experience
• Event or conference management in a conference centre, multipurpose event space or other unique venue
• Excellent client/customer management
• The ability to manage a number of tasks or events at the same time
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Clear communicator

You have a proven track record in managing conferences and events, with the expertise to handle associated support services. Your experience includes addressing health and safety issues, and you are computer literate. Project management is one of your strengths, and you excel in event or conference management within a conference center, multipurpose event space, or other unique venues.

You possess excellent client and customer management skills, and you can efficiently manage multiple tasks or events simultaneously. You are a clear communicator, capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Your dedication to delivering high-quality service makes you an asset in executing successful events and conferences.
