We are looking to recruit a bright and creative Events Support Officer to help us tell these stories through our popular events programme.
About the role:
We’re looking for a talented Event Support Officer to join our team. You should be passionate about delivering outstanding visitor experiences, and as Events Support Officer will work across our public events programme, including online and onsite delivery of our popular What’s On programme. You will be highly organised and a great team player who can coordinate the delivery of events, building positive relationships with internal and external specialists to support the central coordination of each event.
You will need excellent organisational skills and an ability to foster collaborative working relationships, along with good attention to detail which you will put to use in creating and checking event listings and liaising with speakers on our talks programme.

This role includes direct support of events and activities which require frequent but irregular working outside of normal office hours, including evenings and weekends.
This is a full time post. However, requests for part-time working, flexible working and job share will be considered, taking into account at all times the operational needs of the Department. A combination of onsite and home working is available and applicants should be able to regularly travel to our Kew site for a minimum of 60% of their work time.

Essential criteria:
- Excellent administrative and personal organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure, both individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with good attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, with the ability to learn new systems as required.
- A can-do attitude and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively working with a variety of internal stakeholders (IT, Visitor Services, Events and Exhibitions).
- Experience of organising and supporting the delivery of events.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience of delivering online events using Microsoft Teams, Zoom or similar.
- Experience of event delivery and/or venue management in the heritage/cultural sector
