About the role:
To facilitate the effective planning and delivery of projects and business as usual activity within the Exhibitions and Temporary Display and Design and Interpretation functions, leading a team of technical and production staff. Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the production of exhibitions, displays, print and other design media to a high quality and within time and budget constraints, working with other colleagues. This includes the management of external contractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety, fire and other regulations. Provide high-level support with programme management, resource planning, and operational planning.

Key areas of responsibility:
* To lead on operational planning for exhibition, temporary display and design activity, including programme management, resource planning, asset management, and scheduling.
* To oversee the successful delivery of the construction of exhibitions and related technical services, and their dismantling following closure, safely and securely, within budget, to schedule to a high quality. Includes managing discrete multi-disciplinary teams within wider exhibition projects.
* To support the procurement of exhibition construction and technical services. To work closely with project managers in this regard for large exhibition projects, in particular for the preparation and management of tenders, and the selection of contractors.
* To ensure effective technical support for the delivery of exhibitions and design services.
* To ensure mechanisms, processes are in place, reviewed regularly and updated, to maximise the effectiveness of exhibition construction, print product and related technical services. To do so in liaison with key stakeholders, ensuring safe and secure operations, in compliance with CDM, health and safety and all relevant regulatory requirements.

About you:
* Experience of managing construction projects, involving multi-disciplined teams.
* Experience managing projects, including risk management; issue resolution; change management; cost control; budget management.
* Experience planning and managing a programme or portfolio of projects or work packages involving planning of resources and scheduling.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills, including examples of delivering multidisciplinary projects simultaneously and confidently.
* Demonstratable experience prioritising multiple workloads and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Ability to research, report on, and develop project briefs to achieve the clients needs and desired design.
* Skilled planner, with an ability to prioritise and manage oversight of several projects at once.
* Strong grasp of desired end result, with the ability to problem solve and adapt to changes as they come.
* Strong team-building skills and the ability to influence and manage internal and external stakeholders.
